In 2004, Fail Engineering provided design, engineering and project management services in association with an OC12 lightwave upgrade and expansion project for Peoples Telephone Company headquartered in Erin, Tennessee. The project utilized Lucent DDM2000 and Lucent DMX lightwave products to allow the expansion of broadband coverage to an estimated (200) two hundred subscribers.

Fail Engineering performed site surveys to determine the lightwave and electronics requirements for each site, prepared specifications, requested vendor quotes, assisted in vendor selection, conducted contract negotiations, coordinated customer training, verified inventory and equipment configurations, performed onsite supervision of installation, integration and turn up activities as well as final walk through inspections, invoice validation and closeout.
