This ongoing program has involved area coverage surveys, OSP facilities inventory, and CSA designs with fiber to the node all which are reflected on computer-generated maps. This program has resulted in the deployment of 43 DLC’s serving approximately 3,700 customers with an additional 134 remotes planned for deployment over the 12 exchanges in the future. Over 200 miles of fiber have been deployed linking all of the central offices and most of the remotes. With the completion of this program over 11,000 access lines will be served by fiber fed facilities. This program is also beginning to move toward a further reduction in CSA loop lengths when it is feasible. This reduction in loop lengths will allow for the migration to the Triple Play (video, voice and high speed data) and ultimately to a fiber to the home deployment in the future.
